Hi guys, I wanted to share with you all some work from a talented painter who is starting to get noticed, her name is Sarah Holt and just a little over a week ago I had the pleasure to help her on a photoshoot. Sarah wanted to recreate some of her favourite painting's so organised a photoshoot with Rococo Imaging, model Natasha Vernon and MUA Kelly Odell to get her own imagery to paint.
The photo shoot was inspired by her Ashley Olson painting with the Coca Cola can's as rollers in her hair, painted from a famous image photographed by Ruven Afanador, a well know fashion photographer. These three painting's are part of Sarah's Female Portraits Collection, which are a collection of painting's in black and white of inspirational women.
Sarah re-edits the pictures of her chosen subject and then paints in acrylics on to canvas, painting the shades of shadows rather then a outline. Her paintings are really unique and by painting in such a technique really makes the faecal features stand out. I really like her colour pop painting's adding a new elements to the painting.
Sarah also paint's in oils on occasion and again the quality of work produced is amazing, really portraying the same moment as the picture it was painted from, perfectly. Using shadows, light and tones really well to create a strong definition of her subject.
Having studied textiles and fine art sarah really wanted to improve on her drawing skills so completed a course in Life Drawing, this is where her passion for capturing the human form began. As well as painting portraits, also creates stitched based artwork which you can see on her facebook page www.facebook.com/SarahMichellePaints. Is there no end to her drawing talents ;).........
You may have seen Sarah's work displayed in the John Lewis Oxford Street store and BOXPARK Shoreditch were her painting's have proven to be very popular. Over the next few weeks you still have a chance to see her work with the next exhibition being located in Leicester Highcross Shopping Centre for the Somewhereto_ Event on the 26th to the 27th of this month. So don't miss it.
Very soon you can also buy her painting's from her stall at Spitalfields Art Market in London November 14th-17th. Be sure to check out her website www.sarahmichellepaints.co.uk where you can see all the painting's she has in her portfolio, you can also get in touch with Sarah by contacting her through her site.
